The 13 Worst Games by Metacritic Score

Many games never get a chance to shine in the spotlight. They could be overshadowed by other games released at the same time, or they might not have been spotlight material. These games on the other hand, were doomed from the start.

#1 Rambo: The Video Game

Starting off the list with a 2.3/10 by critics and a 1.4/10 by users, Rambo is “unpolished, repetitive, and littered with difficulty spikes.” The game is an on-the-rail shooter in an era long past that type of gameplay and has nothing to look forward to.

#3 Drake of the 99 Dragons

Critics gave this game a 2.2/10 and the user score is 1.8/10. Although the user score is higher than Fast and Furious, there were more critics that gave their input on the game. A few of the user reviews jokingly give it a perfect ten as well, with one of the them saying “This is by far the greatest game ever created. Keep in mind I’m blind, deaf, and mute.” The camera, controls, and visuals are awful. How awful? It’s bad enough to warrant a critic’s comment saying, “When the loading screen is prettier than anything in the game, then you know you’ve got problems.”

#4 Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma Volume One

The game has been given a 2.1/10 by critics and a 2.8/10 by users. Though, 11 out of 30 of the user reviews are joke reviews. One user gives a very descriptive comment on everything done wrong with the game and why it might as well be considered a tool on what not to do. The game is nearly unplayable, with one critic claiming “Afro Samurai squanders its material at every turn, boasting horrific graphics and sound design, poor combat, and a nonsensical story.”

#5 Infestation: Survivor Stories

Formerly known as “War Z,” the game is give a 2/10 by critics and 1.7/10 by users. The game is called a shameless knock-off of DayZ. It takes all of the bad from DayZ and makes them worse with none of the good. To make matters worse, its servers are supposedly plagued with countless hackers.

#6 Deal or No Deal

A 2/10 by critics and a 1.9/10 by users. The user score would actually be lower than 1 if not for two joke reviews. As IGN puts it, “A $30 dollar game about winning fake money by picking random numbers is awful to begin with, but a completely broken version of said game is another story altogether.”

#8 SPOGS Racing

Just the image alone should be enough to tell you this game should not have existed. The game has a 1.8/10 by critics, and 3.3/10 by users because of many joke reviews. The game is ugly, boring, has cheap AI, and worst of all, costs $48 dollars.

#9 Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons

A 1.7/10 by critics and a 1.3/10 by users with several comments talking about its horrendous graphics, lack of redeeming qualities, and many glitches. The difficulty goes everywhere and the broken combat doesn’t make the game any better.

#11 Yaris

It’s a game literally based on the Toyota Yaris. Critics gave it a 1.7/10 and the users gave it a 4.3/10. However, nearly half of the user reviews are joke reviews. The game feels like it had no effort put into it, and even though it’s free, “not even that can justify the space required to download the game. After all, what’s your time worth?”

#12 Ride to Hell: Retribution

A 1.6/10 by critics and 1.3 by users, Retribution is “a failed project that should have been scrapped.” The final product is buggy, with bad dialogue, graphics, broken gameplay, and overall design. At least it amused one user who says, “this game’s so bad, it’s funny.”

#13 Family Party: 30 Great Games Obstacle Arcade

This game is the lowest rated game of all time, according to Metacritic scores. It sits at 1.1/10 by critics and 1.3/10 by users. The entire game seems to have technical problems left and right, with unbelievably bad graphics for a game that’s only 4 years old. The host of the games is described as “nerve-shattering” and the minigames aren’t any better.
