#4 GHOSTBUSTERS: “Don’t cross the streams” – Dr. Egon Spengler

In the iconic Ghostbusters film, a group of scientists form a team to capture and rid the world of the supernatural. This quote said by Dr. Spengler (Harold Ramis) was directed to his peers after they had created their weapons to capture the ghosts. There was just one simple rule “never cross the streams because that would be bad.” Why is this quote so popular? Maybe it’s the irony that one mishap could turn the guys into what they are fighting, but mainly because it just happens to be one of the many great scenes in Ghostbusters.

#5 THE DARK KNIGHT: “Why so serious?” –The Joker

The second installment in The Dark Knight trilogy is held by most, to be the greatest super hero movie of all time. One of the main reasons for the movie’s high esteem is because of Heath Ledger’s portrayal of Batman’s main antagonist, the Joker. Ledger’s portrayal of the dark villain was ominous and truly gave the feeling that there was a psychopath on the silver screen. In a scene where the Joker is taking out one of his rivals, he gives a monologue about how he got the scars on his face, giving the audience chills with the repetition of the line, “Why so serious?”
